Meet Your Instructor

With 20 years teaching experience and a lifetime of playing experience, Valerie has taught in Boston, MA, the San Francisco Bay Area, and now Washoughal, WA. She is thrilled to share her love of learning to play the piano with students in the Washougal/Camas/Vancouver area. Valerie delights in helping each student grow, not just as a pianist but as a person who is developing confidence, focus, and a deeper understanding of how music works. She loves getting to know the personality of each student that walks through the door and finding ways to clearly break down each new concept, whether through theory games, hands on activities, movement, analysis, creative improvisation activities, or the latest musical tech tools.

Welcome to The Studio

We are delighted to announce the opening of our new in-person studio for piano lessons in Washougal, WA, minutes from downtown Camas. When you arrive, you’ll see two upright acoustic pianos, shelves for rhythm instruments and music books, a file cabinet full of theory games, and lots of hands-on learning tools, plus plenty of room on the floor to move around. We also have a small waiting area for parents and siblings.

Our physical location features plenty of onstreet parking and easy access to Camas and Vancouver via Rt 14.

Our virtual piano lesson setup includes dual cameras to demonstrate side views, keyboard closeups, and overhead view, a large screen monitor, high quality mic and speaker system, and virtual versions of all the fun games we use in-person
